Phoebe Bodurtha
Founder and Director
Phoebe is a senior in high school. She came up with the idea to start Vocal for Change while attending The School for Ethics and Global Leadership in Washington D.C. during the fall semester of her junior year. She currently sings in her school’s choir and a cappella group The Spirens and has performed at a number of venues including Madison Square Garden, Woolsey Hall and Citi Field. She has also sung in Times Square at a preview for the Veterans Day Parade.
Claire Pershan
Assistant Director
Claire is a senior in high school. She became involved in Vocal for Change the summer before her senior year at Breakthrough New Haven. She plays harp and has recorded a CD of her music. She is also a member of her school’s a cappella group Triple Trio.
Sam Kuslan – Musician Extraordinaire
Sam is a senior in high school. He arranges music for Vocal for Change when he isn’t recording or performing his own music or promoting his new CD. Check him out on Facebook.
Juliet Bailin – Web Visionary
Juliet is a senior in high school. She built Vocal for Change‘s site after co-designing the Cherub 2010 website at the NHSI journalism division. She loves to sing and she performs in her school’s concert choir and musical theatre productions.
Devyn Curley – Music Assistant
Devyn is a senior in high school. He leads the boys’ section in the first Vocal for Change group. He sings in his school’s concert choir and in The Hopkins Harmonaires, one of the oldest high school a cappella groups in the country.
Daisy Brady – Music Assistant
Daisy is a junior in high school who assists at Vocal for Change rehearsals. She sings in her school’s concert choir and in The Spirens with Phoebe. She has also participated in a number of school musical productions (and she’s got some pipes!).
Jonathan Fisher – Teaching and Music Assistant, Accompanist
Jonathan, a sophomore at Yale University, assists in teaching weekly rehearsals at Elm City. He has been playing piano for 15 years and also has experience teaching music to children. We encourage you to listen to Jonathan’s music at www.jonjazz.com.
